General Details

Inspired by the solar energy industry and a family business related to builders, Canada Go Green designs, manufactures and distributes energy efficient products for residential and industrial buildings. In 2010 we designed our first attic ventilator powered by a solar panel built for Canadian industry.

Canada Go Green is proud to be 100% Canadian. Canada Go Green products are designed, assembled and tested for quality control at our facilites in Ontario. Canada Go Green is the leading manufacturer of solar powered attic vents in Canada.

4 Seasons | 10w Vent

The 4 Seasons solar fan is designed and built for sloped shingled roof applications. The vent works by using the sun’s energy to power a fan which pulls excess heat, moisture and humidity out of the attic while promoting healthy air circulation. It can operate from dawn until dusk and has a similar size and shape as traditional roof vents, allowing it to work as a regular passive vent after sun-down.

Because of the sensitive solar panel, the 4 Seasons solar vent can operate even during low light conditions. This vent is often used as an alternative to wind turbines.

4 Seasons HP | 15w

The 4 Seasons HP is designed and built for both sloped metal roof and sloped shingled roof applications. The vent works by using the sun’s energy to power a fan which pulls excess heat, moisture and humidity out of the attic while promoting healthy air circulation inside. It is equipped with an ultrasensitive 15W solar panel, allowing it to operate in any daylight condition and will work as a large ‘passive’ vent after sun-down. It features heavy gauge metal construction, a larger brushless motor and 5 wing aluminium fan blade allowing this model draw twice as much air as the 4 Seasons solar fan.

4 Seasons Pro | Slantback

The 4 Seasons PRO is designed and built specifically for sloped shingled roofs and offers extra protection in severe weather. The vent works by using the sun’s energy to power a fan which pulls excess heat, moisture and humidity out of the attic space while promoting air circulation inside. It is excellent for steep roof applications. The unique shape helps prevent wind driven rain and snow from blowing into the attic while the slanted hood deflects running rainwater.

4 Seasons HP | Flat Roof

The 4 Seasons HP Flat Roof Solar Vent is designed and built for flat roof applications. The vent works by using the sun’s energy to power a fan which pulls excess heat, moisture and humidity out of the crawl space while promoting the air circulation inside.

This vent can operate from dawn until dusk, and still work as a ‘passive’ vent after sun-down. The sleek flashing is made of heavy spun aluminum and features a unique, weather resistant shape. Each vent comes with an interior insulation sleeve to prevent condensation buildup on the metal.

Why choose solar powered vents?

  1. Solar vs. Static Vents

Shortcomings of a Static Attic Vent

While passive attic venting works well to create a continuous air flow, it only makes a significant impact when there is a breeze blowing. On humid, airless summer days when there is no breeze, the hot air in the attic builds up, making it hot and stuffy. This excessive buildup of heat puts additional load on the air conditioners, shortening their life and racking up the energy bills. In winter, the insufficient venting and resultant moisture buildup causes mold growth and wood rot.

The Difference That a Solar Attic Vent Makes

Solar attic fans work actively to eliminate the heat build-up in the attic by drawing hot air out. This will force fresh air from outside through the intake vents into the attic. The benefits of this little addition are manifold:

    • Reduced heat buildup, which can bring down the temperature in the attic by as much as 40°F on a hot summer’s day
    • Improved air circulation
    • A more comfortable indoor environment
    • Reduced strain on your air conditioner
    • Lower utility bills

  2. Solar vs. Electric Vents

    The Environmental Factor

Electric fans utilize electricity which exhausts the earth’s energy reserves. Solar attic fans do not use up the earth’s resources and are an environmentally friendly solution to attic ventilation.

    Energy Consumption

With electric fans you can expect ongoing electric power costs, which can go up significantly during the hot summer months. Solar attic fans run purely on solar energy so your power consumption is zilch. Imagine cooling your home without paying a dime extra on your utility bills!

    Installation Costs

Because of the wiring involved, you will need to pay a professional electrician to have an electric fan installed. There’s no installation involved with solar attic fan. You can simply and easily set it up yourself, adding to its overall cost effectiveness.
